W O W what an incredible journey!
Such an honour to take home Gold at the Ausmumpreneur awards as an Influencer. I flew to Sydney for the National Conference and Awards night, along with my husband, which doubled up as respite for two parents running on very little sleep 😉
Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner, are the beautiful sisters (CEO’s) behind Ausmumprener and created a fantastic event for women in business all over Australia.
None of this would have been possible without the support of all those who voted, shared and encouraged along the way. Thank you to each and everyone of you for co-creating this opportunity and to my daughter Chiara who is the little miracle behind Miracle Mama.
It was such an honour to be alongside incredible women in business in the influencer category who I admire a lot. The conference was full of education, connection and community.
Let me rewind a little and tell you how I first connected with Ausmumpreneur.
I applied for a part-scholarship for their Ignite Women’s Business School Program in 2016 and was accepted, which was perfect timing for my business and learnt new tools to help bring Miracle Mama to life. If you would have told me back then, that I would be a finalist in two categories at their National Conference the following year, I would have said “no way -impossible!”.
When I attended the Melbourne Mastermind in 2016 I instantly knew I was in the right place. After spending over 10 years in a fast-paced corporate environment, it was so refreshing to finally look at business from a woman’s perspective. I’m not sure back in my corporate days, I could have stood up in a sales meeting, close my eyes, place my hand on my heart to share my ‘intentions’ for the meeting and its outcome. Manifesting, magic, heart, abundance were not the kind of words that flowed through the office hallways!
So you can imagine just how thrilled I was not only to be a finalist in the Influencer category, but also the Women’s Business School awards. Yet so much more than the awards was the opportunity to connect with other women and learn about so many incredible businesses.
From the motivational guest speakers, to the room full of women who were all so supportive of one another created an epic event.
It was so refreshing to listen to the real stuff, the challenges that all mums in business face and the ways they dealt with them. I know first hand how hard it can be starting and maintaining a small business through motherhood. It’s been a huge learning curve creating Miracle Mama, there have been the odd moments where I thought I would ‘quit’. The personal journey of raising a child with serious health conditions, meant that the Royal Children’s Hospital became our second home. Then the juggle of raising two girls, attending countless therapies and treatment, dealing with missed-milestones, broken sleep, Chiara’s life-expectancy concerns and so on.
Although here’s the thing, in those moments where it was all ‘too much’, there was always a tribe of women who had my back, who reminded me of my own strength and gifts to the world, when I was too tired or lost to see it myself and for that I will be forever grateful.
Women who support and uplift one another and that’s exactly what I’ve experienced through the Ausmumprenur tribe.
To little Chiara who is the mini miracle who continues to influence me every single day. So proud of you, this award is for you beautiful one.
To the community of special needs families, friends and businesses T H A N K Y O U for voting and backing me the whole way through, it really was a team effort. Incredible things await Miracle Mama and my mission is to revolutionise the way we approach this unique motherhood experience, together we can create a life beyond our wildest dreams with our families.
Thank you again Peace and Katy for all that you do to support women in business, I am such a proud ambassador.
